MS Bremen - the only 4* expedition ship capable of venturing into the upper reaches of the Amazon River – sets sail on 11 April 2009 from Belem at the mouth of the mighty Amazon River in northern Brazil on a 16-day cruise navigating the 1865 miles all the way to Iquitos in Peru. Still for the greater part unexplored, the Amazon rainforest is the largest and densest in the world boasting more plant and animal species than any other jungle with regular sightings of pink river dolphins, tapirs, sloths and countless exotic birds such as toucans and macaws.
