A WASHINGTON man is pursuing cruise line Norwegian Cruises following a violent attack onboard one of its ships by fellow passengers. It is alleged that a three man gang violently attacked him with beer bottles punching and kicking him in the face. Matthew Ashe of Stevenson, Washington, USA, has now filed a lawsuit against Norwegian Cruise Lines in Miami, Florida. The allegations are made against the cruise line following a holiday onboard Norwegian Star in March last year. Since then the Ashe family having been trying to obtain the identity of the three men involved in the vicious attack. It is claimed that the family’s lawyers requested the cruise operator to release video tapes and the names of the assailants so a report can be made to the US FBI, as the incident occurred in international waters. A maritime Miami lawyer in Florida has now filed a lawsuit at a Federal District Court to force the firm to release the details. International Cruise Victims, a non-profit organization said: “A family should not be forced to hire two law firms and file a Federal lawsuit in a courthouse 3,000 miles away just to obtain basic information about a crime on a cruise ship,"
