BRITS will get the first peek around Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest flag ship Norwegian Epic when she makes her UK debut before sailing to its Miami base.

The 4,200-passenger, due for delivery in 2010, will hold a number of European inaugural events and will then be based at its Home port of Miami sailing year-round to the Caribbean.

Norwegian Cruises are breaking with the traditional cruising model by fitting the new Epic with ‘New Wave’ staterooms.

Epic will take Norwegian’s famous Freestyle Cruising to new heights, automatically becoming the largest ship in the fleet.

New onboard venues claimed to rival the experiences of Las Vegas, Ibiza, the Riviera and South Beach – Miami, CEO Kevin Sheehan said: “The combination of the ship’s new features, along with tropical allure of Caribbean destinations, will provide an extraordinary cruise vacation for our guests.”

In 2007, the UK cruise market grew by 11% to exceed 1.3 million passengers. Ex-UK port passengers increased by 4% to 467,000 passengers while the number of fly cruise passengers increased 15% to 870,000 passengers.
