US COASTGUARD today confirmed that they are still searching for a man and a woman who fell overboard into rough seas from two difference cruise liners.
Carnival, the world’s largest cruise company, said one of its entertainment staff fell into the water on New Year’s Eve, and Norwegian Cruise Lines is looking for a woman after she went overboard near Florida.
US cops said the man fell into the water at approx 12:40am from the cruise ship Carnival Sensation off the coast with Vero Beach. Six crew witnessed the incident and the ship’s captain was informed.
US Coastguard scrambled to the scene whilst crew members manned search and rescue boats from onboard the ship.

In a statement to www.holidayinsiders.com Carnival said "The eyewitness accounts indicate that this was clearly an accidental overboard.
“Florida Today is reporting the man was a singer in a band that had just finished a performance on the top deck, and that he may have been trying to take a photo.”
A US Coast Guard spokesman added: “they were actively searching an area north of Vero Beach. After searching throughout the night, this morning the Coast Guard was launching a C-130 aircraft that can cover a larger area faster.
The spokesman went on “The crew threw a life ring when the man went overboard, but it's not believed he caught it”
The Coast Guard on Monday ended its search for Jennifer Seitz, 36, who went overboard from the Norwegian Pearl off Cancun on Christmas Day.
FBI is continuing its investigation into that incident – though her family has said they believe she had jumped from the ship. Seitz had been cruising with her husband and mother.
