The $4.7 million contract with Misener Marine Construction covers work such as building a new, deep-water sea wall. Canaveral is also seeking bids from contractors to build a 1,000-space parking garage for Disney passengers.

The construction is to be completed by late 2010. The first of Disney's two new cruise ships, which will hold 4,000 passengers each, is scheduled to begin sailing in 2011.
