HURRICANE Omar has roared into a major threat to shipping and life as it headed towards the Virgin Islands. Winds are due to top 115 miles per hour; Omar is currently 105 miles west-southwest of St. Maarten/St. Martin.
Travelling at 20 m.p.h. the outer wall of Omar will pass east of the Virgin Islands later today
With winds due to hit 115 miles per hour Omar is currently 105 miles west-southwest of St. Maarten/St. Martin, and is due to pass the Islands later today Cruise firms, Princess, Disney, Holland America, Royal Caribbean and the World’s biggest firm Carnival moved ships out of Omar’s path.
