CRUISE holidays from the UK to the Mediterranean are back in the top 5 holiday bookings for families facing financial restraints says Advantage Travel.
Old favourite foreign hotspots are back in fashion again for future holidays, it was revealed today. Florida and cruise ship holidays to the Mediterranean are also proving popular as tourists search for good-value breaks. Advantage Travel Centres commercial director Julia Lo Bue-Said said: "There's no doubt that consumers are looking closely at their holiday spend. Families understandably want the very best deals they can get, but they also want the reassurance that they will have an enjoyable break. "That's why the established destinations are seeing strong sales. The infrastructure and weather are good and they are well served by tour operators. Heading off to a less-established destination obviously has a degree of uncertainty attached to it, and people don't want to take that risk if they are only going abroad once next year." The company expects Spain to do particularly well next year as there has been a surge in the number of Britons buying property there and cash-strapped friends and relatives may well want to join the new owners so they can "get away on the cheap". These are the areas expected to do well next year: 1. Spain and its islands5. Cruise holidays from the UK to the Mediterranean 6. Cape Verde of the west coast of Africa
